Lesson Agreement
The purpose of this agreement is to insure that the
prospective student and / or their guardian fully understands
that commencement of lessons is a two way obligation between the student and
the band. These two way obligations
include certain expectations as well.
What the student can expect from the band and the band
agrees to provide:
- The
band agrees to provide a competent instructor at every Sunday practice,
for at least 30 minutes of instruction. Instruction may be 1:1 or in a
group session, depending on instructor availability, number of students,
and the current level of the student(s)
- This
instruction will be designed to provide the student those skills required
to become a competent player & band member.
- The
practice location will be safe, and in the case of minor students, fully
in the open, never with a minor student alone with a single adult hidden
from others view.
- There
will be a practice session / lesson –every- week, at the assigned time,
unless communicated clearly by email, website & Blog entries.
- Every
student will be respected, regardless of: age, sex, religion, race or
political beliefs.
What the band can expect from the student, and the student
(& guardian) agrees to provide:
- The
Student will acquire the materials required, under the direction of the
PM, PS or DS.
- The
Student will attend every practice / lesson, unless prior notification is
made to the PM, PS or DS.
- The
Student will do any homework assigned, and adhere to a regular, consistent
practice schedule, which will be evidenced by steady progress.
- The
Student will participate in band activities, as able, and upon reaching a
point of proficiency on the full instrument (pipes or drum), and being
invited, join the circle as a contributing member of the band.
Failure of either party to fulfill the above obligations may
result in termination of lessons, by either party.
